3. Controls and Gameplay
There are a good amount of controls on this game (not as much as Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee for GCN), and I think that it would do good to learn them all.
-Control Pad: Move your pawn about the batttlefield. Simple, no?
-A Button: The high blow. This does damage to your enemy, which is good. When another monster is stunned, you can use this to pick up and throw the stunned enemy.
-B Button: The low blow (don't get the wronng idea). This also does damage. Whee.
-L Button: The block. This decreases the daamage you take. Doesn't that sound nice?
-R Button: The jump. This makes your monsteer use his legs (or wings if you're Mothra) to exert enough pressure and energy to exist at a higher level from the point where the energy was exerted (in other words, you jump). This can set up aerial attacks or get you up ledges. You might use this a lot, depending on your strategy.
-Hold A Button: Does the monsters first speecial attack. Hold until it flashes then let go. If successful, your rage meter goes up. See the monster's profile for more information.
-Hold B Button: Same thing, different move..
-Jump and A Button: Does the aerial attack.. Again, see the monsters profile for more info.
-Jump and B Button: Does the other aerial aattack.
-Rage Attacks: Use L and R, A and B, or jummp and use A and B. The power and move differs for each monster.
-Start Button: Pause
-Select Button: Unused
-Control Pad: Select menu option
-A Button: Confirm selection -B Button: Cancel Selection
-L, R, Start, and Select Buttons: Unused
Health and whatnot:
-Health Meter: Up in the corner of the screeen is your Health Meter. Once the Health Meter is no longer blue, your monster is kaput.
-Rage Meter: Right below the Health Meter iis your Rage Meter. As you destroy buildings and hit others with charge moves, your rage goes up. Use this to perform special attacks. If the brown part of the meter is filled, you can use your level 1 Rage Move. When the Orange part is filled, you can use your level 2 rage move. If the bar is flashing, you can use level 3 Rage Move. If you use a lesser level Rage Move than the max you can use, the meter only drops the amount that the Rage Move is required to use.
-Name: Below the Rage Meter is your monsterr's name. Whee...
-Timer: Smack dab in the middle of the top of the screen is how much time you have left in th battle. You can turn this on and off in the options menu.
Multiple Players: Your meters aren't the only ones up there. P1's meter is in the upper left corner, P2's is in the upper right corner, P3's is in the lower left corner, and P4's is in the lower right corner.
After the battle: After the battle, the score screen will come up. You'll get points depending on how many monsters you beat, how many buldings and vehicles you've destroyed, and how much health and time you have left. All your scores will add up in Story Mode, having no actual effect on the game whatsoever.
